CHILD PROTECTION POLICY
TKC believes that all children have the right to be safe and enjoy their involvement in motor sport. TKC is committed to helping and supporting everyone involved to accept their responsibility to safeguard children from harm or abuse. TKC is committed to creating and maintaining a safe and positive environment for all children to participate in motor sport.
Policy Statement:

As defined in the Child Care Act 1991 anyone under the age of 18 years should be considered as a child for the purpose of this document

The welfare of the child is paramount

All children regardless of age, gender, ability or disability, faith, size, language or sexual identity have the right to protection from harm

All allegations, suspicions of harm and concerns will be taken seriously and responded to swiftly, fairly and appropriately

All children have the right to be treated with respect and for their concerns to be listened to and acted upon

Everyone will work in partnership to promote the welfare, health and development of children

TKC aim to create an enjoyable environment where young people have the right to be safe, secure and free from threat

All club volunteers who may be in contact with a child will be Garda vetted

TKC officials and volunteers will ensure that all matters relating to a child will be addressed to the child's parent or guardian (e.g. penalties, driving conduct etc..)

TKC officials and volunteers will ensure that if a child needs to addressed that it will be done in the presence of that child's parent of guardian.
TKC reserves the right to enforce this social media policy at its discretion. TKC may remove any posted messages that it considers to be in breach of our social media policy.
Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility. This means that everyone in TKC has a responsibility to respond to any concerns that they or others, may have about a child, or the behaviour of an adult.
If anyone has any concerns of a Child Protection nature, please contact our Child Protection Officer(s) for advise.
